We keep our material list short on purpose. Almost everything we make uses one of a small number of fabrics, chosen because they sit well against new skin and hold up to being washed constantly.

WHAT WE USE

Five materials, each here for a reason.

Rather than a long list of fabrics, we focus on materials that make sense for how each product is actually used — from breathable bedding to towels that need to absorb quickly and socks that need to stay on.

Organic cotton muslin

A loose, open weave that is light, breathable and gets softer every time you wash it. We use 100% organic cotton muslin for our bassinet, mini crib and crib sheets, muslin hooded towels, muslin blankets and car seat covers.

GOTS certified organic cotton blend

Our sock ranges are knitted from a GOTS certified organic cotton blend — typically 78% organic cotton, 20% polyester and 2% spandex. Cotton sits against the skin, while polyester and spandex provide stretch, shape retention and the grip needed to stay on a wriggling foot. Exact fibre content is listed on each product page.

Bamboo viscose

Used in our bamboo hooded towels and washcloths. Bamboo viscose is very absorbent and dries quickly — exactly what you want from a towel that gets used twice a day.

Knitted organic cotton

Our knit baby blanket is 100% organic cotton in a breathable knit, light enough to use across the seasons.

Vegan leather

Used only on the Waterproof Baby Changing Pad. It wipes clean in seconds and never needs washing — the one place where a synthetic surface is genuinely the better choice for a parent.

Global Organic Textile Standard

Covers organic fibre content along with environmental and social criteria through the supply chain. It applies to our certified organic cotton sock ranges.

Tests finished fabric for substances harmful to human health. It applies to our organic cotton muslin ranges.

Made for real life — and real laundry.

Simple care helps the fibres perform as intended and keeps everyday essentials feeling their best for longer.

Everyday washing

Machine wash warm or cold with like colours.
Use a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibres and is the main reason towels and muslin stop absorbing.
Tumble dry low, or line dry. Muslin and cotton knit both keep their shape better on a low heat.
Wash new muslin before first use. It softens noticeably after the first two or three washes.

Socks

Turn socks inside out before washing.
Use a mesh bag if you have one. It helps stop the grippers catching on other items and keeps pairs together.

Changing pad

Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Do not machine wash, bleach or tumble dry.
